“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command
thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and
when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest
up” Deuteronomy 6:5-7 KJV.
Instilling his word into their hearts is a goal that we take
seriously. It is our hope and prayer that they will have a heart to serve the
Lord as they grow older. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he
is old, he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6 KJV. We see this happening
within our older sons. They make us so proud, showing that they have faith in
Jesus. They obey his voice when he speaks to their hearts. There are times just
as with any of us they don’t obey the first time. I think it’s a human thing to
doubt what you are feeling or hearing is truly God. Sometimes we feel the need
to ask for more proof is it really in fact him. It’s the carnal side of us all.
As we mature in our relationship with Jesus we still struggle from time to time
with these carnal feelings. It’s so easy to doubt but to step out in faith is
much harder.
God Bless,
Tammy
